The primary
purpose of the Society for German Idealism is to stimulate interdisciplinary
scholarship on the philosophies of the German idealists -- chiefly
but not exclusively: Kant, Fichte, Hegel, and Schelling -- and to
afford an opportunity for international exchange of research on German
idealism. The Society for German Idealism encourages: (1) interdisciplinary
scholarship on the history of German idealism; (2) interdisciplinary
scholarship on the writings and biographies of the German idealists;
and (3 ) the furtherance of original philosophical thought which has
its basis in the philosophy (philosophies) of one (or more) of the
German idealists, or which treats issues in the style, manner, or
method of one (or more) of the German idealists.
