Completed applications will not be accepted after the application deadline OR once 40 applications for a specific program have been submitted to the Office of Overseas and Off-Campu s Programs, whichever comes first.
Academic References
Professors may request an electronic academic reference form for the applicant(s). Please email the Overseas & Off-Campus Programs Office (overseas@lclark.edu) with this request.
Passport Photo Information
You will also be required to submit passport photos with your application. You will be informed of the amount of passport size photos needed for your program when you pick up your application in the Overseas Office. These photos are used for i.d.'s, government forms, university files abroad etc. We recommend that you have your pictures taken at Action Fast Photo, located at 9889 SW Barbur Blvd. (Near Barbur Foods & across the street from the bus depot on Barbur), 503/245-9898. The first set of photos costs $7.50 and each additional photo 43¢, which is much better than most other shops in the area. Please make sure you have Lewis & Clark College i.d. with you or the the photos will be much more expensive.
Program Interviews
In order to participate in the interview process, your application must be complete (including receipt of at least 2 of your references). You will be contacted by email only to schedule your interview once the deadline has been met or 40 applications have been received. It is imperative that you become accustomed to email communication as it is the standard procedure in this department. The interview will be conducted by the program leader and/or members of the Overseas and Off-Campus Programs department.
The Decision
Selection is determined by the program leader in close consultation with the Overseas and Off-Campus Programs department. Notification of final decisions is sent through campus mail prior to posting on our bulletin board. Most programs accept an initial group of approximately 25 students.
