Akin houses 65 students on two floors in primarily double occupancy rooms. The residents of Akin say that the advantages of this hall include its large comfortable rooms, its location on campus, and the people. The rooms are newly carpeted (Summer 2001) and equipped with walk-in closets and movable furniture. Each floor has a large lounge and kitchen. In the central lounge, you can often find students chatting around a cozy fire, watching television or playing the piano. A basement game room provides residents a number of entertainment options. Akin is the Multicultural Hall.

Odell Hall is a smoke-free community, connected to Stewart Hall. Odell is centrally located to classroom buildings and Templeton Student Center.

Akin is the oldest hall at LC, celebrating its 50th anniversary in the 1999-2000 academic year.

The SOA community is enhanced by the presence of eight Office of Residence Life staff members. We are seven student Resident Assistants and me, Fid Castro, a full-time, professional Resident Director.
