Located centrally on campus, Platt-Howard houses 200 residents and is divided into three wings, each with three floors housing an average of 20 residents. Students may choose between single-sex or coed floors. Most floors have a small kitchen adjacent to the floor lounge. Platt-Howard is also the site of The Platteau, the student art center, which opened in the fall of 1999. It has quickly become one of the most popular places on campus. (see Theme Housing - Visual and Performing Arts for more information)

"Hello! My name is Melanie Love and I am the Resident Director here in Platt-Howard. Platt-Howard houses about 200 residents, a large number of whom are first-year students. Both Visual and Performing Arts and Outdoor Pursuits are two theme options which are housed in Platt-Howard. They offer incredible opportunties to live in an atmosphere surrounded by others who share interests. Platt-Howard also is home to the Student Arts Center, a place open to all students to dance, paint, enjoy photography  and ceramics. The energy of Platt-Howard is one which fosters friendships and fun. Platt-Howard is an exciting place to live, learn and grow...we love it!!" --Melanie Love, Platt-Howard Hall Resident Director
