Welcome to the IT Technology Training Program Home Page! The Information Technology Division is committed to providing high-quality training and documentation on the software and services we provide to members of the Lewis & Clark Community. There are a number of options available to you here. Hopefully one of these will fit your needs.

IT provides support at a variety of levels, on a designated list of software. Don't know what software IT supports? It might be useful to check out IT's Supported Software List.

Here are some of your training options:

  • Computer Training Classes and Workshops: Covering a wide-range of topics, these one to two-hour sessions are offered at various times throughout the semester. Have a look at the schedule and look over the course descriptions. Once you've digested all the information, let us know what course(s) you're interested in by sending electronic mail to training@lclark.edu or use the online registration form.

  • Read Your Manual: When you purchase software for your computer, you may receive a set of manuals. Most software manufacturers will provide a "Getting Started" section for new users. Sometimes you'll also receive a tutorial with your software. FileMaker Pro and Photoshop both come with good tutorials. Check both of these options out!

  • CBT Tutorials & Classroom in a Book: In IT, we know that sometimes the training we offer doesn't come when you need it most. So, we've assembled a small library of Computer Bases Training tutorials and workbooks for you to check out for up to a week at a time. Have a look at the list, then drop by the IT main desk and have a look at the library!

  • Helpsheets: The Helpsheet area is where you'll find online documents written by the staff of the Information Technology Division. Where appropriate, you'll also find pointers to outside sources of documentation. These documents and pointers are specific to the Lewis & Clark community. You'll find help on the software IT supports, on using the public computing labs, even documents relating to the PIONET project.
