Absolut Parallel

Created by Leslie Remer, Alison McLain and Jesse McCaughey

Welcome to a brief, yet compact analysis of some major components in the famous Absolut Vodka campaign. In this site, you will be able to explore various concepts and images such as post modernism and how the Absolut Campaign both reflects post modernism and illustrates it. Once here, you can be lead through the complexities of ideology, semiotics and myth in Absolut's advertising scheme. But, if you are more interested in the audiences that Absolut has targeted, you can check out a brief analysis on Niche Markets. After seeing how Absolut has beautifully targeted specific observers, you can continue to see how each group is hailed through the attraction of authenticity. However, there is one audience that that is hailed which should not be considered a "Niche Market." Minors are so interested in the collectibility of Absolut ads that it can be shocking to see how far their dedication has gone. Also in the discussion of collectibility, the question arises, " Why is the Absolut campaign so captivating?" If the previous pages didn't answer this question for you, then this analysis will.

We have provided access to a glossary, which our class has provided that can give you further information of certain terms and concepts. If you have any feedback for the creators of this site, please email us.
