AMERICAN ADVERTISING & THE SCIENCE OF SIGNS

Brought to you by the American Advertising and the Science of Signs class at Lewis and Clark College. Enjoy!!!

We are bombarded with advertising daily--it surrounds us in many forms: magazines, billboards, television, radio, and newspapers. As advertising is such a pervasive part of our lives, routinely poking at us, we thought we would poke at it. The students in this course have completed group projects on various themes relevant to the effects of advertising on culture and society.

Click on the following links to see the projects, a page of advertising-related links and documents, or browse our pages via our extensive glossary of theoretical terminology.
