On this site, as part of the SOAN 370 class at Lewis & Clark College, it was our goal to discuss various issues in advertising for specifically "high-technology" products. Matt addresses the way in which corporations which produce high technology advertise for an unalienated future when in actuality their unspoken purpose is toward a more alienated and controlled society. Luisa writes on aspects of technological progress and the humanization of this same technology in advertising. Travis expresses his thoughts about time and space in relation to several advertisements and issues. Penney discusses the place of speed in the advertising of technology and consequent cultural backlashes against a hyperspeedy lifestyle.
