Remembering Roger Wendlick
Roger Wendlick, a man who went to extraordinary lengths to assemble the world’s most complete private collection of literature on the Lewis & Clark Expedition, passed away in his home in Portland this March. In 1998, Roger’s collection became a central part of the Aubrey R. Watzek Library’s holdings on Western exploration and the Corps of Discovery. We will be celebrating Roger’s life and accomplishments with some words from those who knew Roger and time for fellowship on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 from 3-5pm in the Gregg Pavillion on the Lewis & Clark College campus.

Watzek Library presents the third film in the Soviet Film Series, COME AND SEE, directed by Elem Klimov in 1985.

Watzek Library presents the second film in the Soviet Film Series, SHADOWS OF FORGOTTEN ANCESTORS, directed by Sergei Parajanov in 1964.

7th Annual Watzek Rocks Concert
Kick off the new semester with a free rock concert in Watzek Library. Three student bands will perform at the 7th Annual Watzek Rocks: Dancing Hats, JPC, and asbestos.
Johannah Sherrer Memorial Lecture
Dr. David Carr from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, presents the 2010 Sherrer Memorial Lecture, “Think with Me: The Possibilities of Public Conversations in Cultural Institutions”. Dr. Carr’s lecture will address the roles of libraries in contemporary American culture. A reception will follow in Albany 218.

Bringing History to Life: Three Lectures About Historical Projects in Special Collections
Lewis & Clark College Special Collections in cooperation with the Lewis & Clark Trail Heritage Foundation hosts a series of three lectures by Stephen Dow Beckham, Gary E. Moulton, and Roger Wendlick. Recently all three of these individuals have spent time working on historical projects in Special Collections, and at this event they will share their discoveries. This event is free and open to the Lewis & Clark community and the general public.
