Trustee Biography: William K. Blount

wblount.jpgAn investment broker since 1958, Bill Blount has been described as a “diehard value investor” by Money magazine. He is employed as a Sr. Vice President at UBS Financial Services.

Bill earned both his A.B. in economics in 1952 and a 1957 M.B.A. from Stanford University. During the Korean War, he served as a deck officer aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Essex CVA-9 and later was assigned to the staff of Commander-in-Chief Pacific Fleet, Hawaii.

Bill is a lifetime member of the Stanford Alumni Association, Trustee (emeritus) of the Doernbecher (OHSU) Foundation, Trustee of the James F. Miller Foundation, and Overseer at the Hoover Institute, Stanford University.

Bill and his wife, Nancy, live in Portland. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. His personal hobbies include bicycling (Cycle Oregon) and the water related activities of boating, fishing, and swimming.
