Trustee Biography: Randy Massengale

Randy Massengale is president of Spinoza Technology, Inc., a company that serves the convergence technology market with private labeled devices, software and services. Prior to Spinoza, Mr. Massengale had served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for InfoSpace.com, a national provider of backbone support for numerous Internet applications and wireless services, and as Director of Human Resources for Diversity at Microsoft. Mr. Massengale is also the founder of The Cherubs, a venture capital group dedicated to funding early-stage companies involved with disruptive technologies. He is the author of many articles related to career advancement, industry/academic relations and organizational development.

Mr. Massengale is a 1978 graduate of Lewis & Clark College where he received a B.A. in Communications. He earned a M.S. in Management from Antioch University.

Massengale has long been a supporter of higher education, and has served on the board of directors of the Independent Colleges of Washington and on the board of regents at Seattle University. With his wife, Kit, Mr. Massengale has endowed a scholarship at Lewis & Clark. The scholarship is awarded annually to a sophomore of minority descent for use in the Junior and Senior years. Eligibility is based on academic standing, financial need, and a commitment to community service. They are also founding members of Social Venture Partners, a Seattle-based non-profit organization that promotes philanthropy using the venture capital model.

Mr. Massengale and his wife, Kathryn, a 1981 graduate of Lewis & Clark, have three children. They make their home in Mill Creek, Washington.
