Ruth Sigal and her husband, Dr. Elliott Sigal, joined the Parents Council in August 2011. A Certified Equine Guided Educator, she owns horses and trains them to provide therapeutic interactions with people. She volunteers her time to help disadvantaged youth in urban areas working with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Kents Hill School in Maine which was attended by one of her two sons. Ms. Sigal is a past president of a family charitable foundation.
Raised in San Francisco, she worked in the family commercial real estate business after completing Masters degrees in art history (University of Chicago) and in business (Northwestern University). Ruth lived in Portland from 1975 to 1977 where she held an internship and later worked in education and public relations at the Portland Art Museum.
Ruth currently lives in Princeton New Jersey with her husband Elliott and has three children including Ilana Sigal ‘13.
