Stephen Roth

Stephen Roth began his 28-year career working as a trader and investment banker for major Wall Street firms and later as co-founder of four separate real estate investment banking and real estate investment management firms in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris and Shanghai. After 10 years on Wall Street with Salomon Brothers and Drexel Burnham Lambert, Mr. Roth co-founded Secured Capital Corp, headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in New York, San Francisco and Dallas. Secured Capital was sold to Wells Fargo Bank in 2006. 
 
In 2004, Mr. Roth co-founded a real estate investment management company, Kailong REI based in Shanghai, China with offices in Beijing and Hangzhou. A majority stake in the company was sold to Cargill, Inc. in 2007. Mr. Roth serves as Chairman.
 
In 1996, Mr. Roth co-founded a real estate investment management company in Tokyo, which was listed on the Tokyo First Section Exchange but merged with a Hong Kong based fund management company and renamed PAG in late 2010. In 1997, Mr. Roth co-founded a real estate investment management company in Paris, France. The firm now has offices in Brussels, Milan and Madrid.
 
Mr. Roth graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley in 1977 with a B.A. in Economics. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 1980.

Steve and Jean’s daughter graduated from Lewis & Clark College in May 2011 and is now employed full-time at OHSU doing academic research in her major, Psychology. Their son graduated from Yale University in 2009 and is employed full-time with The Nature Conservancy in Beijing.
