Deep Water Running
The Deep Water Running class uses the AQX training system to workout, seeking to achieve optimal performance, health, and overall well being. Utilizing the specially designed AQX training shoes, Deep Water Running closely simulates land running providing a quality aerobic workout while doing away with the high impact of land running. Using flotation belts or suits to help maintain proper body position the system adds variety and balance to workout routines.
The AQX training system, besides being a primary workout is used for prevention of and rehabilitation from injuries. After learning the proper mechanics of Deep Water Running, the class branches out by incorporating other techniques such as cross country skiing, running drills, plyometrics, and intervals to the workout.
This concept was designed by Garry Killgore, PhD Exercise Physiology, Head Coach Cross Country/Track & Field, Head of PE Department at Linfield College. Gary is also the designer of the shoes and suits.
