About Lewis & Clark

Sustainability Council

The Lewis & Clark Sustainability Council is made up of representatives from across all three campuses. The council serves as an advisory board to the provost and also acts as a central body to coordinate and promote sustainability initiatives throughout the Lewis & Clark community.

Meetings are open to everyone and involvement from other members of the community is encouraged.

What we worked on in 2008/2009:

1. Bike loan program

2. Setting up bike coordinator position

3. Sponsoring the first ever Eco-Olympics

4. Creating new form for travel reimbursements that requires users calculate their carbon emissions.

Progress made on each of these issues:

1. The bike loan program was put on hold due to safety concerns

2. We had a bike coordinator for the first year and are looking to have another one next year

3. The Eco-Olympics had there first successful year and plans are already under way for a second year

4. The travel form has yet to be implemented
