      Joined the Office of Metro Attorney as
a senior assistant attorney for the Metro Regional Government. He will continue to practice in the areas of land use and transportation planning, with responsibility for issues related to the urban growth boundary and other regional planning projects.

      Was named director of programs for Susan G. Komen Oregon and SW Washington, the region’s largest breast cancer charity. Allee has an MS in nursing and an MS in business management. Prior to joining Komen, she held leadership positions in direct patient care, management, and administration at Legacy Health System, Oregon Health & Science University, and Providence Health and Services.

      Joined the Port of Portland as general counsel. From 2000 to 2010, Blaufus served as an attorney for Nike in various capacities, including as emerging markets counsel and Americas regional counsel. Most recently, he served as senior vice president and general counsel at Borden Dairy Company in Dallas, Texas.

      Was appointed to the Jackson County Circuit Court for the Seventh Judicial District in Medford and will fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Mark Schiveley. Bloom was a partner at Hornecker, Cowling, Hassen & Heysell in Medford, where he has practiced civil litigation since 1993 with a focus on professional negligence defense. He has represented multiple municipalities in certain state and federal court cases. He has served two terms on the Oregon Council on Court Procedures, three terms on the Local Rules Committee of the U.S. District Court, and as an executive committee member on the Litigation Section and Products Liability section of the Oregon State Bar. Bloom also served as judge pro tem for the past five years.

      Was named cochair of the health care practice at Davis Wright Tremaine. Brydolf is a partner in the firm’s Portland office. She was also named 2016 Portland Lawyer of the Year in Health Care by Best Lawyers magazine.

    Leslie “Les” Carlough passed away peacefully in Portland on April 20, 2016, as the result of cancer. Les was a senior policy advisor in the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality’s Office of Compliance and Enforcement. He and his family provided affordable housing for Lewis & Clark law students for a number of years. He had many strong friendships and loved Jimmy Buffet, as well as tasty food and drinks.

    Les is survived by his wife, Claudia, and children Kestrel and Savannah.

      Joined Farleigh Wada Witt, a full-service business and financial services law firm in Portland, Oregon. Cruz’s practice focuses on commercial finance, corporate finance, and general business. He has over 20 years of experience representing banks, commercial lenders, and other financial service providers in complex commercial loan transactions. Cruz currently serves as a commissioner for the Portland Development Commission and is on several nonprofit boards.

    Janice (Jan) Hirsch passed away on October 16, 2014, after a battle with cancer. Jan was born March 21, 1950, in Agana, Guam, to Lt. Col. Arthur Miles Holtorf and Marilyn Jean (Lee). She graduated from Pullman High School in Washington in 1967 and from Washington State University in 1989, having spent several of the intervening years raising a family and working as a legal assistant.

    Following Jan’s graduation from Lewis & Clark Law School, she began practicing employment and labor law. She worked for a couple of firms before going out on her own in 2006. Jan also served with many community organizations—including the Rotary Club, the Royal Rosarians, and her HOA board—and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. 

    Jan is survived by her two brothers, two children, two grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews.

      Was appointed by Ohio Governor John Kasich to the Holmes County Municipal Court. Hyde has been a trial attorney and counselor of law for a private practice since 1994. He is also the acting assistant law director for the city of Ashland Law Director’s Office.

      Joined Buckley Law as a shareholder. Lain focuses her practice in family law, including divorce, custody, and asset division. She specializes in military divorces and division of closely held businesses, and is also a seasoned criminal and juvenile law attorney.

      Ramona L. Monroe JD ’93 has been promoted to partner at the Anchorage, Alaska, office of Stoel Rives LLP, effective January 1, 2017. Her practice focus is natural resources law for the oil and gas industry, mining industry, and renewable energy sector. In addition to her legal practice, Monroe is trustee-at-large of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, serves on the board of directors of the Alaska Miners Association, and is past president of the Alaska Association of Professional Landmen.

      Was elected partner at Kutak Rock. Rosenthal has a broad-ranging domestic and international corporate practice specializing in mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, private equity investments and loan transactions. He works extensively with the structuring and formation of corporations, limited liability companies, and alternative entities for use in joint ventures, international transactions, and other complex business arrangements.
