Community Engagement
Purpose:
Community Engagement engages students, staff and faculty in a wide variety of opportunities by connecting them to various local and global partnerships that strengthen communities and develop leaders. Community Engagement has four focus areas: local community service, globally focused service, leadership development, and academic civic engagement.
Core Beliefs:
- To serve is to lead. To lead is to serve
- Service is a powerful tool for developing student leaders
- Leadership is concerned with effecting positive change in society
- Inquiry and critical reflection are necessary parts of any leadership or service experience
