Honors

Honors will be awarded by the department to students who produce an outstanding senior thesis. The thesis, to be completed in the Spring of the senior year, is a revision and expansion of a Fall semester senior-seminar paper. Students are invited to propose an honors thesis project if they have done exceptional work in the senior seminar and have a major GPA of 3.500 or above. Thesis proposals are due shortly after the end of fall semester. If the proposal is approved by the department, the student will work with an honors committee, submit the finished thesis to the department for approval, and present a summary of the thesis at a departmental forum.
