MATH SKILLS CENTER - an informal and free resource center for L&C students:

Peer tutors are recommended by the math/computer science professors.

We are dedicated to support and enrich your class work, not to replace your professor. We may not have all the answers (although we do have answer keys), but we can point you in the right direction. Drop-in hours with friendly peer tutors are posted each Fall and Spring semester. The MSC also offers classroom instruction (both lecture and self-paced sections) in Math 055 (Review of Algebra) for the quantitative reasoning prerequisite.

MATH IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT -Tips for visits to the MSC:

Come prepared with your text, notes, and calculators as we have a limited supply. Come with a positive attitude and determination. Tutors are expected to guide you, not complete your assignments. Ask them to do additional, similar problems if you need even more reinforcement with the concepts. Don’t wait until the night before an exam and realize that our nighttime hours tend to be busier. Individualized help for students needing more 1-1 assistance should contact benowicz@lclark for referrals.
