Professional Biography

Susan E. Davis holds a BA and MFA from Connecticut College and is a Certified Laban Movement Analyst through the University of Washington, Seattle, and is also certified in the Franklin Method. She teaches a wide range of classes including:

  • Fundamentals of Movement
  • Dance History/Performance Criticism
  • Composition, Improvisation
  • Movement for Actors
  • Ballet
  • Contemporary Dance Forms
  • Performance

Susan has taught at Oregon State Univeristy, Connecticut College, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and Vancouver Public Schools K-12 Arts Program. At Connecticut College Susan performed in the works of NY choreographers Laura Glenn, David Dorfman and Mark Dendy. She has collaborated with Portland choreographers since moving to Oregon in 1991 as well as performed as a member of Kolomashi, a West African Ghanaian dance ensemble directed by Kpani Addy.
