Students from New England
Charlotte, VT
International Affairs and Religious Studies
I'm becoming very active on campus, participating in Amnesty International, tutoring through the student leadership & service office, Jewish Student Union, and the Womyn's Center.
I like to read, paint, draw, go hiking and backpacking, and watch movies in my spare time.

Sociology/Anthropology
I think my favorite thing about L&C is the small class size. I always feel involved and active at school, which I love. It's hard to not appreciate the intimacy in classes. Also, the off-campus programs that are offered are pretty amazing. I will be in Ecuador for the Spring 2009 semester, studying Spanish and working on my SOAN major. It's very exciting!
I love the outdoors, and try to be in nature as much as possible: hiking, kayaking, biking, snowboarding, and especially rock climbing occupy my time a great deal. Working for College Outdoors gives me a lot of opportunities to do these things, and a little money on the side. I also spend some time reading (for me, whenever possible) and doing art as well. Random adventures are the best!

International Affairs and Latin American Studies
I'm one of many Third Culture Kids (TCKs) at Lewis & Clark, and I have to say that it's a lot of fun. I was born in Maine, but grew up in Yungaburra, Australia as well as California. L&C's reputation for internationalism fits very well with my background and academic interests. I also participated in the Cuba study abroad program in Fall 2007, which was an amazing opportunity that very few American students can have.
On campus, I like reading, photography, hula hooping, and drawing, as well as getting outside for camping, backpacking, swimming and diving, and traveling in general. I think our beautiful campus (especially the view of the gardens from the top floor of the library) is my favorite thing about L&C. It's amazing!

Wakefield, MA
Math/Computer Science and Technical Theatre
What I like most about LC is the people. I am an R.A. for VAPA, the Visual and Performing Arts floor in Platt West and Treasurer of ASLC (student government).
My favorite things to do include playing water polo, roaming the internet, reading and making art. So far, my favorite class here has been Scenography, a theatre design course taught by Michael Olich.
My piece of advice for prospective students would be to ASK QUESTIONS!
