Most recently I've lived in Greensboro, North Carolina; Clearwater, Florida; Corvallis, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington.

I participate in a number of student activities, such as Students for a Democratic Society, LINCS - mentor program, and the Brazilian Club, which I co-founded. I also work as an office assistant in Human Resources on campus.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, especially short stories and poetry in Spanish and Portuguese. I also cook, knit, watch movies (usually in Spanish), hike, listen to music, volunteer, drink tea, and explore downtown Portland with friends.

Psychology

A lot of people are surprised that I am from the South and came all the way across the country for college. However, I believe that I've found an accepting place where I don't feel far from home at all.

Everyone here is genuinely interested to some degree in what they are studying, and they love talking about their classes or papers/projects. With friends in all different fields, I feel like I have already taken five intro level classes just by talking to them. It's great to all share a passion for what we are learning and want to teach each other.

My favorite class thus far has either been Social Psychology or Infant and Child Developmental Psychology, because the professors are obviously passionate about their subjects and are able to teach in a manner that is exciting and interesting. They are brilliant and willing to engage students, which is very welcoming. L&C has a small community feel and a friendly student body, as well.
