Admissions
Zach Kearl '10
Admissions Intern '08-'09 and '09-'10
I am so close now, yet so, so far. I have my thesis and four other courses in my major to graduate. Blah! I'm happy to have some continuity in my life, however, working with a fabulous bunch at the Admissions Office, and the great group of tour guides.
I originally come from San Antonio, Texas, which to some is a long haul to go for college, but I may find myself never leaving the cozy overcast and drizzle of the Pacific Northwest. There were many factors that drove me over the two thousand miles away from home. One of which is the city of Portland. It is a liberal, eco-friendly city that is very easy to explore with its friendly atmosphere and superb public transportation.
The other of course is our school. I can be found in just about every square inch of this campus, from the music department to the sports facilities, and the academic buildings to the residence halls. I'm an economics major, environmental studies minor, hoping to find some solution in two apparent polar opposites. Outside of the classroom, I am hoping to rejoin many of the groups that I found myself in the first three years, while also utilizing the many programs we have to give back to Portland.
It sounds like a lot to juggle around, but that is what college is all about, right?! If have any questions feel free to contact me!
A big Texan farewell,
Zach
