SAT Score Choice Policy

Lewis & Clark College will consider your highest section scores across all SAT test dates that you submit. We accept scores directly from the College Board or from your high school as official scores. Feel free to send any additional scores that you want to make available to the Admissions Committee. While we record your writing score, we do not use it in the admissions review process.

ACT Score Policy

It is our practice to take the highest composite score from all of the testing dates that you send to us. We do not superscore. We accept scores directly from ACT or from your high school as official scores. The ACT writing test is not used in the admissions review process.

Portfolio Path

While no single factor determines admissibility to the College, we strongly believe that a student’s past academic performance is the best single predictor of academic success at Lewis & Clark College. This alternative, test-optional admission option is designed especially for students who have demonstrated such exceptional academic achievement.

Home School Policy

Lewis & Clark College welcomes applications from students who have been home schooled for some or all of their education.  We consider you a home school student if the majority of your high school career has taken place outside of a traditional academic setting, or if your high school career will conclude outside of a traditional academic setting.

Deferred Enrollment

Deferring enrollment for a year is an increasingly popular option. Lewis & Clark is in full support of students pursuing a gap year or similar experience. Our Defer Policy outlines our expectations and parameters for students wishing to defer their enrollment for a year. Please call our office to discussion your decision as well.
