Emily Decker '85

Senior Associate Dean of Admissions

Emily found L&C when searching for colleges from her home in Mound, Minnesota. As a student, she played varsity basketball, edited the sports section of the campus newspaper, studied abroad in Denmark and Greenland, and majored in communication. The summer following graduation, she joined the admissions staff. Emily works with students from Hawai’i, Minnesota, Wisconsin and U.S. Students Abroad and coordinates admissions publications.

Much of Emily’s time outside the office is spent with her three children -- Matthew (14), Kathryn (10) and Andrew (8), and her husband, also an L&C alum. The kids enjoy spending time on campus and see L&C as their second home. The family loves to travel, bike ride, hike, and watch movies. Favorite books include The Secret Life of Bees, Abundance, The Glass Castle, Molokai'i and Where the Sidewalk Ends. Emily is also a true Pioneer sports fan.
