Admissions
Erika Lynn Quiggins
Associate Dean of Admissions
Erika’s path to Portland from her hometown in Orange County, California led her through her own undergraduate experience in southern California (where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa), a stint working in admissions in San Diego, and a detour to Michigan State University, where she earned her M.A. in American Studies with emphases in women’s studies and American education. She joined the Lewis & Clark Admissions staff in 1999. Erika works with students from Alaska and western Washington and coordinates several newsletters and an annual counselor tour.
Most of Erika’s time outside work is spent with her husband, 7-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter. As leader of her daughter’s Girl Scout troop, she is the resident source for Thin Mints and Samoas. Erika's current passion is supporting the Portland area's many farmers' markets and restaurants, and eating as much locally- and sustainably-produced food as possible. When Erika has time, she reads books by Barbara Kingsolver and Bill Bryson, roots for the Dodgers (Vin Scully is her idol), walks, runs, and kayaks, and enjoys all the great Pacific Northwest traditions, including picking fresh Oregon berries, wine country tours, salmon, and PolarFleece.
