Carol Timm

Class of 1987

Carol Timm is the director of attorney recruiting and retention at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a law firm specializing in technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises located in Palo Alto, California. Carol graduated from Lewis & Clark with a BA in Business Administrative Studies. She later attended Cornell Law School, where she graduated Cum Laude with a specialization in International Legal Studies.

During her time at Lewis & Clark, Carol was recognized as a Presidential Scholar, received the Paul Barney Prize, was named Outstanding Senior Woman and was nominated for the school’s top academic award, the Renne Ratte. She was also selected by Oregon Business magazine as one of the Top 10 Business Students for the state. A member of the volleyball team throughout her years at L&C, Carol played on the Hall of Fame-inducted 1986 squad which came in second in the NCAA national championships. Carol was also active in student government, the jazz choir and rowed crew.

A highlight of her college experience, Carol participated in the Scotland program during her junior year. She remains lifelong friends with her homestay family, and considers her 6 months in Great Britain to be a life changing event for her.

Carol was employed by Xerox as a financial manager before enrolling in Cornell Law School. While earning her JD, Carol attended the Institute of International and Comparative Law in Paris, France, which was co-sponsored and hosted by the Sorbonne. She and her teammate also won the William C. Vis International Moot Court Competition in Vienna, Austria, besting teams from around the world.

Carol has been with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati since 1997.

Her husband, Geoffrey, is also a Lewis & Clark alum. Carol and Geoffrey have two sons, Sacha and Will.
