“Crude” is a film about the largest environmental lawsuit in global history, a class action lawsuit filed 16 years ago by 30,000 Ecuadoreans against Chevron (dubbed the “Amazon Chernobyl” case). The impending $27 billion judgement will no doubt set a precedent for how transnational corporations will be held accountable in the future. The film is extremely timely, as the case has been making headlines in recent weeks, with both sides fighting it out in the media and in the courtroom.

“Crude” will screen in Portland at Cinema 21 for one week only, starting next Friday. Director Joe Berlinger will be in attendance 11/13 at the 7pm show.
