Environmental Studies
Situated Research Sites
The environmental studies program emphasizes the importance of situated research by offering local and overseas sites for students to engage with environmental issues by studying them in the context of a specific place. There are four local research sites including two Portland watersheds, the Lewis & Clark campus, and the Alder-Jordan Creek watershed in rural southern Oregon. ENVS also works closely with the Overseas and Off-Campus Programs office to offer six international research sites with support and resources available to environmental studies students who wish to perform research abroad.
