PE/A 101 - Intermediate Sculling

Content: Taught in doubles and quads, intermediate sculling is meant as an introduction to the sculling stroke for those with prior rowing experience. The class is also appropriate for those with prior sculling experience who are looking to advance their skills or work towards better technique and fitness. Prerequisite should be prior competitive rowing experience, the beginning rowing course, or other rowing experience as approved by the instructor (an example would be a learn-to-row class of at least 8 sessions)

 

Generic Catalog Description for PE/A 101: May include aerobics, step aerobics, badminton, ballroom dancing, basketball, bowling, country and western dance, cross training, cycling,fitness walking, golf, Frisbee golf, jogging, lifeguard training, martial arts, rowing, sailing, scuba diving, skiing/snowboarding, soccer, softball, speed and agility, strength and conditioning, swim fitness, swimming, tennis, triathlon training, Ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, water safety instruction, weight training, women’s self-defense, yoga. Focus on principles of physical fitness such as safe techniques, conditioning activities, principles of movement, importance of lifetime fitness. Student participation and attendance emphasized. Off-campus activities may require a student to secure his or her own transportation to the site.
