Housing Lottery for Spring 2010

Date: November 5, 9:00am - 4:00pm Location: Campus Living Office - 1st Floor, Templeton

The Housing Lottery is scheduled for Thursday, November 5th, between 9am-4pm in the Campus Living Office on the first floor of Templeton Campus Center. Current residents who wish to apply for a change of hall for Spring semester should plan to participate. Residents will be asked to complete a form requesting a change-this will require that you have given some thought to where you would like to move. You may specify a preferred roommate and/or particular floor within a building. If you’re applying to move to a Theme Floor, you will be required to complete a Theme Floor Application which are available online by clicking on the Housing Forms link. (Themes include: Akin/Multicultural Hall, Stewart/Wellness Hall, Howard/Outdoor Pursuits, Platt/Visual and Performing Arts, Copeland/PEAS (Green) Floor.) In addition, you will be asked to complete a Roommate Preference Sheet to assist the AD is making suitable roommate assignments. Then, you will draw a lottery number. That number will place you among the other current residents who have participated in the lottery.

During the week of November 9, the Campus Living staff will meet to complete housing assignments for students to residence halls. In addition to the lottery participants, we will also assign housing to students currently on L&C sponsored overseas or domestic programs, students returning to L&C from a Leave of Absence and new students entering the College. Notification of your Spring 2010 hall assignment will be posted outside the Office of Campus Living following the Thanksgiving break.

ADs will make specific room assignments within their complexes based on the information you provided at the lottery. Final room assignments for lottery participants will be available from the Office of Campus Living on December 11, 2009.

In order to facilitate a smooth move-in period in January, some coordination at the end of Fall semester will be required. If a change of room is granted, you will be asked to box (and clearly mark) all your belongings and store them in the trunk room of the building (not room) you are moving to. You must also check out of your current room with your RA and complete the RCR that you signed at the beginning of the year. Please remember that all residents must vacate the halls by 3pm on Thursday, December 17th, so you’ll need to plan ahead. You will receive complete instructions through campus mail or over email later in December.

If you have additional questions, please call x7183 or email sjb@lclark.edu for clarification.
