Spring Semester Housing
Cost & Availability
Room rent in the residence halls is $2,443/semester and $2,793/semester for a single room. Rent in the apartments is $3,140 for the semester. If you have not already submitted a Lease Agreement for the campus apartments, it does not appear we will have adequate space available to accommodate you at this time. (You are only eligible to apply for the apartments if you have completed the two-year residency requirement, or are 21 years of age at the beginning of Spring semester, January 17, 2010.) A traditional meal plan is required if you live on campus. You may choose from five different plans. See “General Info” on the right side bar for pricing and explanations.
We anticipate that space will be available in most of the residence halls, including some single occupancy rooms. Double/singles ($400-450 additional rent for the semester) will only be awarded after final occupancy is established. We do not anticipate having a great number of double/singles for Spring 2010. However if you wish to let us know of your desire for a double/single and your intention to pay for it, you may download teh Double/Single Application and send it along with your completed Residence Hall Contract. You will need Acrobat Reader to download the forms.

How to Apply for Spring Semester Housing
If you are OVERSEAS or on LEAVE OF ABSENCE during Fall semester, you should complete a housing contract (or lease) and return it to the Office of Campus Living by mail or fax (503-768-7977) no later than Monday, November 9, 2009 for priority consideration. You’ll need a $100 deposit for the residence halls and $200 for the apartments. Please remember that if you have not already submitted a Lease Agreement for the apartments, it is unlikely that we will have adequate space available to accommodate you for Spring semester.
Since you will not be on campus to represent yourself during the room assignment process, the Campus Living staff will rely on the written information you provide through your contract, roommate preference sheet or other written communication.
If your contract is received after November 9th, you will be assigned on a space available basis. NOTE: It is possible that you have already filed a housing contract or lease for Spring semester. If that is the case, you don’t need to do anything more at this point. If you’d like to check the status of your housing request just email sjb@lclark.edu and we can let you know what we have on file.
The residence hall contract and lease agreement are legally binding documents, so please read them carefully before signing. Students returning to campus who have not yet completed four semesters of campus residency MUST complete a housing contract. Remember the College requires that you live on campus for four consecutive semesters (even if you have junior standing).
Assignment Notification & Hall Opening
We will email your housing assignment and the name of your roommate to your LC email address early in December. If you prefer, you may email sjb@lclark.edu to get your room assignment anytime after December 7, 2009.
The residence halls (and apartments) open for continuing students returning from overseas or leave of absence on Sunday, January 17, 2010. The first meal served in brunch on Sunday, January 17 and Spring semester classes begin Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The residence halls close on Friday, May 7th at 3pm for all non-graduating students.
