Meet Marjorie Bell '03

Originally from Littleton, Massachusettes, Marjorie Bell now resides in Ayer, Massachusettes where she works as an Accounts Receivable Staff Assistant at Harvard University.

What was your favorite thing about Lewis and Clark?

Meeting my best friends.

What did you enjoy most about the Internship?

Hearing about a successful visit from a prospective student.

How has your experience as an Intern helped you to reach your goals?

Working in the Admissions Office taught me the importance of customer-service. In every profession there is a "customer" and providing that customer with quality service is always part of your job. Whether the customer is a perplexed prospective college student or the busy financial office at a scientific institution, you need to be ready with the answers to their questions.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future Admissions volunteers and Interns?

Think about when you were a prospective student and how confused and unsure you were about the college visit process. By remembering some of my own experience, I always tried to ensure that the visit details were taken care of so the student didn't have to worry about the logistics and could spend his or her time on campus getting to know Lewis and Clark. Putting in a little extra time on your end can really make a difference in the student's visit.
