Meet Nathan Dexter '98

Nathan Dexter, an Oregon native born in Klamath Falls, currently resides in Boulder, Colorado where he practices Indian law. This includes administrative law, bankruptcy, tax and the occasional federal action.

What was your favorite thing about Lewis and Clark?

Believe it or not I miss that library. Maybe it's the history geek showing in me; certainly I spent too many evenings there researching, studying, and writing. Yet, I cannot count how many times during law school that I wished Aubrey Watzek was available to me. Yes, I would have to say that my favorite thing about Lewis and Clark was the library. Yet my favorite thing about Lewis and Clark, the school, is the collegial atmosphere, the community and sense of belonging that I experienced, and the supportive faculty that not only taught, but cared.

How did your experience as an Intern help you to meet your goals?

I would have to say that but for my experience in Admissions I would probably have waited longer before going to Law school. I enjoyed the contact that I had with students, faculty, and staff as I recruited volunteers for various events or programs. It was insightful.

Do you have any advice for future Admissions volunteers and Interns?

I would urge each to enjoy their time at L&C because time is fleeting.
