Meet Dan Drazen '01

Dan Drazen, originally from Winchester, Massachusetts, now resides in Sacramento, California where he works as a Project Associate with Moore, Iacofano, Goltsman (MIG). Dan coordinates community outreach and public participation dealing with land-use and urban planning projects. This is what Dan has to say about Lewis and Clark and the Intern experience:

What was your favorite thing about Lewis and Clark?

My favorite thing about L&C was sense of community that the school created. It was hard for me to walk from Templeton down to the library without running into three or four people I knew! The feeling that I was part of something bigger than an education made Lewis & Clark such a great place for me.

What did you enjoy most about the Internship?

My favorite part of the internship was getting to meet with prospective students at Admissions open-house events; the interest those students showed in the school made for some great, lively conversations.

How has your experience as an Intern helped you to reach your goals?

My experience as an intern helped me to strengthen my event management and communication skills-- both of which are critical in my field of work. Moreover, working with the Admissions staff provided me with a strong foundation and understanding for how a professional office is managed.

Do you have any advice for future admissions volunteers and Interns?

I strongly recommend getting an internship (in addition to the Admissions Internship). Even if you're not exactly sure of the professional path which you would like to pursue, an internship is a great way to show employers that you have worked (even if it was for free) in their field. I encountered a lot of difficulty finding work without any specific on-th-job experience to which I could point.
