Meet Justin Voss '01

Justin Voss, originally from La Canada, California, now lives in Claremont, California where he works as the Associate Director of Admission at Pitzer College.

How has your experience as an Intern helped you to reach your goals?

Being an intern made me realize that I wanted to do something in higher education. I got some great experience leading tours, working with overnights, students, counselors, parents, etc. and I enjoyed representing an institution. Working with Erica, Mike, and Blythe gave me people to talk to and people I could use as references.

What did you enjoy most about the Internship?

The people. Everyone was very nice and friendly, both in a work sense and beyond. One of my best L&C friends was an intern.

What was your favorite thing about Lewis and Clark?

Where to begin? Professors, people, location, being an RA. I would not trade it, and it has helped my professional career tremendously.

Do you have any words of wisdom for future admissions volunteers and Interns?

Keep cool, it will all work out. Plan ahead and be organized. Be ready for everything to go wrong and realize it probably isn't the end of the world.
