Welcome to AES! I am a new faculty member at Lewis and Clark, but I have been teaching English for several years in a variety of settings, both in the United States and abroad. I strongly believe that exposure to diversity is invaluable to academic and personal growth. I learned this in my own experiences overseas and by seeing many international students open up to a world of possibility while studying in the United States. Portland is a multiethnic city, and transitioning into life here is relatively smooth. In other words, you will probably be able to find the food you miss from home at one of our international grocery stores, but also have plenty of opportunities to experience pieces of other cultures.

In my free time, I am usually outside. Oregon offers many opportunities for skiing, hiking, and biking, so on the weekend I often go out of town on an adventure with my fiancé and/or dog. During the week, you can probably find me after work walking around the lush state park next to the Lewis and Clark campus. At night, I enjoy cooking, which can result in the occasional success or disaster.

Thanks for looking, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
