Submit a Class Note

Did you travel to an exotic location? Get married? Or, have important news to share with your classmates? Submit a class note. Notes are published in the Chronicle and available online.

How do I submit a class note?
You can log into the Alumni Directory using your unique username and password then click on "class note." Class note is located in the toolbar on the right side of the page. The information is automatically downloaded into the class notes section of the web site and is as current as you keep it.

If you are a member of the L&C faculty, email alumni@lclark.edu to submit a note.

Where are class notes published?
Class notes are published in the fall, winter/spring, and summer editions of the Chronicle. Notes that are submitted using the Alumni Directory can be seen as soon as you hit "submit." Check out the online class notes.

When is the deadline for submission?
The deadline for the Spring 2009 issue of the Chronicle is September 30. All notes need to be submitted by then, so we can fact check some information and know how much space we need to allow in the Chronicle.

What is my Alumni Directory username and password?
Your username and password can be emailed to you as long as the College has an email address for you in its database.

What should I include?

To help you determine what information to include in your note, check the samples and lists below. Announcements of engagements and pregancies cannot be included in the Chronicle; however, we will gladly announce marriages and births.

Marriages
* Spouse's first and last name.
* Spouse's class year, if applicable.
* Month, day, and year of marriage.
* Alumni who attended (optional).

Mark Dorsey '83 has been promoted to assistance executive director and chief operating officer of the Professional Ski Instructors of America, American Associate of Snowboard Instructors, and National Ski Patrol.

Gloria Jeanne "Judy" Gerlach Uppinghouse '48, September 10, 2004, age 79. Uppinghouse was born in Chicago and raised in Portland. After graduating from Lewis & Clark, she worked in the College registrar's office, as secretary for then-president John R. Howard, and as alumni director for the College of Arts and Sciences. She was later an administrator at Marylhurst University. In 1954 she married John; he died in 1985. She is survived by her daughters, M. Susan, Leslie, and Rebekah, and two grandchildren.
