Welcome to Lewis & Clark College's eNews, a monthly update of news and events at Lewis & Clark College. We send eNews to alumni, parents, and friends of the campus community. College NewsLewis & Clark College welcomes new facultyTen women and seven men have joined the Lewis & Clark College faculty for the 2006-07 academic year. Lewis & Clark Law School welcomed four faculty members, the Graduate School of Education and Counseling welcomed five, and the College of Arts and Sciences welcomed eight. Lewis & Clark’s three schools — College of Arts and Sciences, Lewis & Clark Law School and Graduate School of Education and Counseling — offer small learning communities where students are challenged to think critically, analyze deeply, write and speak persuasively, exercise leadership, and be engaged as world citizens. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled each year at the College. College's national radio series featured on public radioThe culmination of a three-year partnership between Lewis & Clark College and Oregon Public Broadcasting, "Unfinished Journey: The Lewis and Clark Expedition," chronicles one of the most exciting chapters in the history of human discovery. It is a story of an epic journey across an uncharted land; a captivating real-life chronicle that inspires our imaginations, 200 years later. The series is hosted by Peter Coyote, and features the College's humanities scholar in residence, Clay Jenkinson as the primary on-air scholar. Watch for summer issue of the ChronicleThe summer issue of the Lewis & Clark Chronicle magazine is slated for delivery in August. Look for stories about alumni in the wine industry, the 25th anniversary of the Gender Studies Symposium, and actress Ever Carradine '96. Lewis & Clark alumni are making an impact on local, national, and international communities all the time. If you know of someone who is doing something noteworthy, use the online suggestion form to submit their name. Brown bag talks focus on current researchLewis & Clark College students and faculty members in the humanities and social sciences are teaming up this summer to conduct collaborative research projects. The students and faculty members will discuss their research findings in a series of brown bag talks taking place in July and August. The talks are in 122 Howard at noon unless otherwise noted.
