Exhibit focuses on Griffin's "Black Like Me"

Forty-five years after novelist and essayist John Howard Griffin wrote his book "Black Like Me," the book continues to generate discussion. Griffin’s book chronicles the author’s six-week journey through the segregated American south in 1959, when he chemically darkened his skin color and chronicled his experiences with racism in the United States. An exhibition commemorating the 45th anniversary of the publication of "Black Like Me," which opened on Jan. 16 at the Aubrey R. Watzek Library at Lewis & Clark College, is on view through June 15, 2006.
