"Spider Woman" on NPR and in The New Yorker

Greta Binford and her research on spiders are featured this week on NPR's "On Point" program and in a lengthy profile in The New Yorker. Binford, assistant professor of biology and the recipient of a major National Science Foundation grant, studies the venom of some of the world's deadliest spiders.

Make a Difference - Volunteer!

Lewis & Clark offers a number of ways for alumni, parents, and friends to volunteer their time. You can mentor current students through the L&C Network, help plan Alumni Weekend, serve as an usher at commencement, or help out at a college fair. Time commitments range from a few minutes a week to an entire weekend. Help shape the future of Lewis & Clark by giving your time!

A Slam Dunk for Pioneer Athletics

Spurred on by the success of the men's basketball team, who were recently named co-champions of the Northwest Conference, Pioneer athletics is enjoying a resurgence. Stepped-up recruiting and a holistic approach to admissions are revitalizing the program, led by Clark Yeager.

"Cultivate Culture" at 42nd Annual International Fair

Travel around the world - without leaving Portland - by attending the college's 42nd annual International Fair on March 3. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors of more than 40 countries and 13 regions. The event, which is open to the public and appropriate for all ages, is hosted by the College's international students.

Reflect on Peace and Conflict

William Stafford, poet laureate of Oregon, taught at Lewis & Clark professor for 30 years and authored of 60 books of poetry and prose before his death in 1993. Honor his work as a peace-builder at this year's William Stafford symposium, slated for March 2-4.
