Nakamura '93 Receives National Educator Award

Moanalua Elementary teacher Katherine (Riley) Nakamura '93 became one of 100 teachers being honored this month with 2004-2005 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Awards. The $25,000 awards, which recipients can use in any way they choose, are given to exceptional young teachers and principals who show leadership in their schools. College Honored for Renewable Power Use

Lewis & Clark College students' support of environmentally friendly electricity has brought their institution a major energy honor from Portland General Electric (PGE). The utility presented the College with its second annual Green Power Leadership Award in October. The College received the award at the its seventh annual Environmental Affairs Symposium. Oregonian Features Bike Commuter David Lord '91

David Lord '91 was featured in the Oregonian for his daily 28 mile commute on bicycle. Lord has been commuting by bicycle since he attended Lewis & Clark College. He now works as a Fifth Grade Teacher at Metzger Elementary School. The article is from Oregonlive.com.

Holiday Gala Weekend: Tradition and Renewal

Please join the entire Lewis & Clark College community to welcome the holiday season on campus the weekend of December 3 - 5. Initiated in 1972, the annual Holiday Gala is one of the College's most long-standing traditions. This year the Gala expands to include weekend student performances in music and dance, a children's craft fair, open houses at John R. Howard Hall and Frank Manor House, a holiday buffet, the Chapel service of sacred song and verse (with a special performance by the Oregon Repertory Singers), and student, faculty, and alumni bands in Templeton Student Center for the Holiday Dance.
