College of Arts and Sciences honors distinguished alumni at Alumni Weekend 2006

Lewis & Clark College will honor four alumni on October 5, 2006 for their outstanding achievements in service and leadership to their communities and to the College. The annual Alumni Honors Banquet recognizes Kimberly Hansink '86, Sagala Ratnayaka '93, Jaiya John '89, and the late Ray Warren '65, MAT '71 as part of the Alumni Weekend tradition.

Pioneer football revitalized

Pioneer football heads out onto the field with 24 returning players and plenty of freshman talent. The Pioneers open their season on the road at Occidental on Saturday, September 9. The first game back at Griswold is set for Saturday, September 16 at 1:00 p.m. against Pomona-Pitzer.

Ninth Annual Environmental Affairs Symposium

Lewis & Clark's 9th Annual Environmental Affairs Symposium takes place October 2 - 4. This year's symposium features a variety of scholarly perspectives on major questions facing contemporary environmentalism. We are pleased to welcome Michael Shellenberger and Ted Nordhaus to Portland to share with us the provocative proposal they recently circulated as "The Death of Environmentalism," now expanded in a soon-to-be-released book.

Graduate School hosts Alumni Festival

The Graduate School Alumni Office will be hosting an afternoon of music with the Graduated Notes Alumni Fall Festival on October 6, 2006. As part of Lewis & Clark's Alumni Weekend, this event will feature musical performances for all to enjoy on campus. Musically inclined alumni are invited to bring their instruments or singing talent and join in with the band.
