Dear Lewis & Clark College Community,
We’re writing today to tap your knowledge of some of the people who make Lewis & Clark College what it is. Specifically, as members of the Board of Alumni, we’re inviting you to join us in nominating new members for the board. We’re looking for nominees who are alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences, and whose achievements and energy will enhance the many things we do with and for Lewis & Clark.
Over the next few months, the board will be filling several vacant seats. With your help, we’ll find the very best people possible.
Lewis & Clark College Board of Alumni: Who we are and what we do
The Board of Alumni helps build and maintain connections among alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). We also strengthen the connections between the CAS alumni community and Lewis & Clark College. We do this by:
- Developing and promoting enjoyable and relevant alumni events
- Championing alumni participation in sustaining and strengthening a strong fiscal foundation for the College’s next generation of students
Individual board members take a leadership role in classic alumni events such as the Alumni Honors Banquet and Alumni Weekend/ Homecoming. Members also initiate efforts that reflect the unique character of the college, such as developing a platform for mobilizing alumni service in local, regional and international volunteer efforts. We are even exploring the possibility of launching a global alumni hostel network to leverage the international reach of our alumni on behalf of current students and L&C graduates.
We balance these specific projects against our equally important responsibility to galvanize alumni participation in the Annual Fund. The board is currently assessing our fundraising goals in light of the College’s needs and goals to ensure that our efforts are strategically focused.
What we’re looking for in board members
Alumni board members love Lewis & Clark College. While no single characteristic defines an ideal member of the board, we seek nominees who are high achieving and high-energy enthusiasts of the College. We seek alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences who have the drive, the focus, and the skills to contribute to the success of the board and the College.
It is important that our collective board membership reflect the richness of Lewis and Clark’s diverse student population and community.

How you can help
Helping is simple. Just write the name of the L&C person(s) you think of when you look at the list above and email it to the alumni office at alumni@lclark.edu. Feel free to write a little something about the person whose name you submit, or just submit the name. All nominations will be considered. Please submit all nominations for the 2006-2007 Board of Alumni on or before February 1, 2006.
