MAUREEN O'ROURKE IS THE 2006 DISTINGUISHED IP VISITOR

Boston University School of Law Dean ad interim Maureen O'Rourke is the Lewis & Clark Law School's 2006 Distinguished IP Visitor. Dean O'Rourke is the sixth recipient of the Metcalf Award for Excellence in Teaching, Boston University’s highest teaching honor. Prior to joining the faculty at Boston University, Dean O'Rourke worked on software licensing issues at IBM Corporation.

The intersection of intellectual property law and other fields, such as contract law and antitrust, have been her primary interest.

Dean O'Rourke is a prolific writer, and her articles have appeared in the law reviews of Columbia, Duke, Iowa, and Minnesota, the technology journals of Berkeley, Harvard, and Boston University, and other publications including the Journal of the Copyright Society. She also co-authored the casebook Copyright in a Global Information Economy, and lectures at law schools around the globe. In addition to her teaching, lecturing and writing, she helps supervise the student-run Journal of Science and Technology Law.

The Intellectual Property Distinguished Visitor Series is made possible through a generous grant from the Mentor Graphics Foundation
