Using Geometer's Sketchpad to
Make Meaning in Algebra & Geometry
Teachers in this introductory course explore Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP), a powerful instructional tool for making the teaching and learning of secondary mathematics inquiry-based and more meaningful. Strategies for using GSP's dynamic capabilities in Algebra as well as Geometry will be the focus. Participants have an opportunity to interact with the software as both a student and a teacher: conducting explorations, investigating student materials, and creating GSP presentation slides that they can take back to their classroom for immediate use. No prior knowledge of or experience with Geometer's Sketchpad is necessary.
