Staff Member Mourned

Nancy Curran, longtime administrative coordinator for the international affairs and political science departments, died May 28, 2007, at age 60, after a courageous 17-year battle with breast cancer.

According to her obituary, "Nancy was the embodiment of courage and inspiration when guiding others in the face of life's challenges. She chose to see only the best in everyone who crossed her path."

Curran, a California native, graduated from the Skadron School of Business. She married her husband, Bob, in 1971, and they spent the first years of their marriage in the Golden State. In 1987, Nancy and Bob settled in West Linn, where they raised two sons, TJ and Kyle. Both boys were lost in separate fatal accidents, Kyle in 1996 and TJ in 1998.

Curran loved working at Lewis & Clark and continued to share her talents with the College until three weeks before her death, when she reluctantly retired.

A memorial service was held in Agnes Flanagan Chapel on June 2.
