Mail Advisory

(Message from Jane Atkinson, Vice President and Provost, October 17, 2001)

In light of recent incidents around the country, the FBI has issued an advisory about spotting potentially harmful mail. This advisory is available on the USPS Web site at http://www.usps. com/news/_pdf/poster. pdf

The College has no reason to expect that dangerous mail would be directed at any member of our community. However, we are passing along this information to aid us all in exercising caution and common sense.

We are mindful of the safety of staff and student workers in our Mail Room and have asked them to be alert to suspicious-looking mail.

On The Origins and Consequences of the New Terrorism

On September 21, the college held a daylong campuswide forum to engage in a careful, sustained probing of the origins and consequences of the terrorist activities.

Transcripts of the proceedings are now available. View the forum proceedings.
