This Master of Arts degree is available for students who desire graduate study, but are not interested in professional licensure as a counselor. The structure of this graduate program rests in the academic discipline of psychology as it is applied through counseling and intercultural communication. The generous elective credits included in this curriculum make possible the fashioning of an advanced degree that is focused in psychology and cultural studies while also reflecting the specialized interest of degree candidates. Faculty advisers support students as they identify the content of coursework for their specialized focus. Examples of specializations might include gender studies, globalization, poverty and class, psychology and the arts. The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology: Psychological and Cultural Studies is an exciting opportunity for creative individualized study.
