Welcome to Advancement Services

Advancement Services and our alumni/development database, Benefactor, are instrumental to Lewis & Clark College’s ability to achieve its outreach, fundraising, event, and stewardship goals. Our vision is to supply our clients, both internal to the College and external constituents such as alumni, parents, and friends, with information generated in the most efficient, consistent and accurate manner. Maximizing our data storage options, all Benefactor files and fields will be utilized appropriately, in a standardized format, which is both well-documented and communicated to super and passive users of our systems. A streamlined infrastructure will ensure that each individual, department, school or unit will be provided Benefactor data and generated reports specific to their needs, which honor the division’s mission of creating and strengthening effective relationships.

By and large, the information we generate is confidential. Any data containing personal information which links a donor to a gift is to be disposed of by shredding. Please be mindful when managing this information.

Advancement Services processes nearly 300 production and ad-hoc list requests per year as well as over 7,500 gifts and 100,000 demographic changes. In addition, roughly 150 bios and 50 event briefings are completed each year.
